Proverbs 14:23 says that all hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. This video features the first of five steps to achieve greatness.

I am often asked what it takes to be successful in life and in business. First of all, I think the most important thing to remember is that any success we enjoy in life is simply blessing from God. We’re not capable of doing anything without His help. However, we are able to partner with Him, by living our lives on biblical principles and standards.

The first step to enjoy great success is that we need to out hustle and out work everyone. Bobby Knight won more college basketball games than any coach in history. He has a statement that he uses to describe what sets a great team apart from an average one and what can turn an average player without a lot of talent into an all-star performer. He says that it’s not the will to win that makes an individual or a team great, but it’s the will to prepare to win. Everybody says they want to have success, but not everybody is willing to pay the price.

Often in life, sports, and even in business, the most successful people are not necessarily the ones with the most talent or abilities. If you’re willing to work harder than anyone else, you will experience success that no one else will. Go the extra mile; be willing to do things that may not necessarily be in your job description, but they’re going to help your company grow. Outwork and out hustle everyone. When you do, you’ll be applying the truth at work.
