2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or fear, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline.” In recent years, there’s been a popular phrase on these T-shirts and baseball caps, worn by millions of young people across America. It simply says, “No fear.” These shirts and caps are referring to situations pertaining to athletics such as they say, “The score is tied and you have the ball with five seconds left. No fear.”
Well the truth is that God wants us to live without fear. What are you facing today? What unknowns are you up against and what major decisions seem to have you paralyzed? Is there a tough conversation that you need to have with someone at work, and maybe you’ve been holding off on it because you just have so much fear about how it’s going to turn out? Or maybe you have a large customer that you’ve put off talking to, because you’re anxious that the conversation may not go well. Maybe there’s a position or an opportunity in your company that you’re wanting to apply for, but you’re feeling like you’re not ready for it yet.
No matter the case, don’t let fear stop you from taking the chance. If you’re feeling anxiety, worry, or doubt, remember, these things are not from God. He has promised you power, love, and self-discipline. Trust Him, because when you do, you’ll be applying the truth at work.
