Steve Fowler is a successful business advisor and executive coach. Bringing the vast experience he gained while working as an executive in companies ranging in size from Fortune 10 down to start-up companies, he earned accreditation from the largest body of business advisors and consultants in the world, the Institute for Independent Business. He is the Directing Partner at Steve Fowler Consulting where he assists clients with marketing, business development, management, human resources and financial matters leading these companies as they improve their performance. Fowler’s current clients include companies from Asia to the U.S. in a wide variety of industries.
Prior to this, Fowler was an executive for several start-up companies including GoTV Networks where he was Co-founder and CEO. While he served there, GoTV became the first company in the world to introduce a video product on a mobile phone and was responsible for raising nearly $40 million from angels; private investors, and venture capitalist.
This added to his total of over $100 million of capital that he has been a part of raising in his career. Fowler also has served as the Senior Vice President of Operations for Flashcom one of the first large DSL resellers in the United States and the Vice President of Operations and Customer Care for Los Angeles Cellular Telephone Company, which at that time was the largest single market cellular company in the U.S. LA Cellular was a BellSouth company for whom Fowler served for over 15 years. Fowler has been a part of three of the largest companies in the U.S. (Dresser Industries; Texas Instruments and BellSouth) as well as seven start-ups.
Fowler is an active member of The Woodlands Church and has served in a variety of ministry roles over the last 30 years. He has been an active member of the Board of Advisors in three different states for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, serving for 30 years and also served as a member of the Board of Trustees for Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California for 12 years.
All of those experiences, combined with the blessing of being a preacher’s kid where he was raised in a servant-leader environment, have led Fowler to the unique opportunity that being a Chapter President for Truth@Work in the Houston area represents. He has strongly felt the call of God to combine his spiritual and professional learning to help business leaders make the most of their businesses while growing both personally and spiritually. He is excited to see what God will do in Houston as more businesses are run by men and women who seek to lead in a Godly manner.
Fowler has two business degrees from the University of Houston, receiving his BBA in 1974 and an MBA in 1977. He has been married to Kathy for over 30 years and they are the proud parents of two daughters and grandparents of three amazing grandchildren.
